About us
In medical practice, the use of diagnostic methods holds great significance. These methods are essential for providing the correct clinical approach and effective treatment for patients. According to data from the World Health Organization, laboratory tests provide necessary information for diagnosis in 60-80% of cases. It is important to note that early and accurate diagnosis enables timely therapeutic intervention and the prevention of irreversible damage to the body.
Over the years, the range of studies conducted by the center has expanded and improved, thanks to the adoption of modern equipment and new test systems. Today, our center conducts bacteriological, virological, immunological, serological, biochemical, and general clinical analyses.
We serve not only the population of Georgia but also patients from abroad. Services for these patients are provided both locally and remotely.
In laboratory practice, ready-made forms of reagents and diagnostic tools are widely used to enhance the efficiency of diagnostic processes. Additionally, automated analysis systems and computerized management systems are incorporated.

History
The Analytical-Diagnostic Center of LLC Bacteriophage, Diagnosis-90, was established in 1990 by leading scientists of the Eliava Institute of Bacteriophages, Microbiology, and Virology. The founders include MD PhD Professor Inga Giorgadze; PhD Nana Topuria-Nakaidze; and PhD Mikheil Megrelishvili.
The primary activities of the center have been and continue to be diagnostic and pharmaceutical services.
In 1990, the center employed 5 people, but today it is staffed by 31 employees. Among them, 11 are licensed professionals, and 9 hold doctoral degrees. This group was the first in Georgia to conduct and continue to provide highly qualified bacteriological research, rooted in the team’s profound and traditional knowledge of microbiology.
It is worth noting that in bacteriological studies, in addition to identifying bacteria, the sensitivity of bacteria to various groups of medications is also determined—prioritizing bacteriophages, antibiotics, and antifungal agents.
Over the years, Diagnosis-90 has expanded and enhanced its range of studies not only by attracting highly qualified personnel but also by adopting modern equipment and new test systems.
In 2008, the Eliava Institute established the Eliava Foundation—an Association for the Development of Bacteriophages in Georgia—which is one of the founding organizations of the diagnostic center.
The center was awarded the ISO 9001:2015 standard.
Starting in 2024, the Unified National Accreditation Body - Accreditation Center, granted our center the right to use a combined symbol and certified it with ISO 15189:2012/2015.
Our mission
Our mission is to simplify the management and treatment process of pathologies for both treating doctors and patients through accurate and timely diagnostics. Based on diagnostic results, the treating doctor is provided with the opportunity to develop a targeted and individualized treatment course for a range of infectious processes using biological preparations—bacteriophages.
